at Water's Edge

The West Suite is located on the privately owned and operated estate Water’s Edge, which was recently re-established in January 2022 by Western Pennsylvania native, Gwendolyn Reno. This suite is a newly renovated 298 SF accommodation within The Lodge, perched alongside the Slippery Rock Creek and adjacent to McConnells Mill State Park. This sprawling yet cozy space has panoramic views that overlook the creek and face the state park land just across the water.
The Space
The West Suite at Water’s Edge is a massive 298 sqft bedroom complete with an in-suite full bathroom and a wall of windows overlooking the Slippery Rock Creek facing McConnells Mill State Park property. The West Suite offers a Casper Brand king-sized bed and a twin daybed with a twin trundle that can be raised to create a split king or a separate twin bed all within your suite. You can expect a full-size dresser with a mirror and a substantial closet space with a mini kitchenette for your convenience. We’ve furnished this suite with everything you need and nothing you don’t. Many additional items and supplies are available upon request. Just reach out to our hosts, and they can provide almost anything!
Guest Access
The total living area inside The Lodge spans 3,995 SF and includes four separate private suites and the property office. Although The Lodge is shared with a full-time resident, your host, Gwen, values her solitude and privacy. The entire property is a very peaceful place. At some point, you're sure to meet your host as she lives in the North Wing of The Lodge.
Your stay in The West Suite includes full access to The Lodge Kitchen and two designated parking spaces.
We host small events in The Lodge, and at times, your stay at Water's Edge may overlap with other guests' stays, workshops, dinners, celebrations, etc. We take boundaries very seriously here and always share the details of which spaces and times are private or occupied throughout each event we host. You can also expect to see other guests enjoying many outdoor areas, hiking trails, or even having a gathering or photo shoot!
We have been working on restoring this estate since the acquisition in January 2022, and we have a good bit left to do. You may see some construction or groundwork during your stay. You may also hear some tools or machines at work!! We are extremely mindful of our guests' experience and do our best to avoid making noise while you're here. We thank you for understanding that we are a work in progress!!

We will check you in and review the accommodations with you when you arrive. A parent or guardian must accompany all guests under 18, and all guests 18 and over are required to sign a waiver upon arrival. This waiver is due to our wilderness setting and is necessary to acknowledge the many natural dangers present throughout the property.
We love to give recommendations for local shops, activities, or restaurants. If it's solitude you're looking for, we've got plenty of that, too! We will do our absolute best to deliver a stay that is what YOU want it to be.
Please be aware that a small venue space and three other rental accommodations are available on the property. We will always let you know if anyone else is present on the grounds. We ensure that everyone's private spaces and accommodations are always respected.

Other things to note:
There are MANY staircases at Water’s Edge. If you’re interested in walking around the property, you will navigate inclined trails and outdoor staircases. If you are unable to or do not want to embrace the climb, the creek is accessible by truck or SUV.
Due to the nature of the terrain and proximity to the Slippery Rock Creek, it is of the utmost importance that you know the natural dangers on this property. All guests must be 18 or accompanied by a legal guardian. All adult guests are required to sign a waiver upon arrival.
